An Afghanistan veteran, who has a mysterious relationship with her deceased army best friend, comes face to face with her Vietnam veteran grandfather at the family’s ancestral lake house. Morgan Freeman and Ed Harris previously starred together in Gone Baby Gone (2007). I saw it at SXSW 2024 and it was by far the best movie there (like I said). It’s based on a true story. It made me laugh, it made me cry, and it also made me think more about veterans and the challenges they face when they come back from war. I try not to give too much away or spoil the movie for other people, but if you’re going to see it, have a box of tissues handy! The acting is incredible – with people like Morgan Freeman and Ed Harris, you can’t go wrong. I don’t know some of the other actresses and actors as well, but now I know their names! They’re phenomenal. A must-see movie with a very important message for audiences.
