Universe is promising and a welcome sight
The story cares about the characters and the animation is top-notch. Speaking of the animation, the new “Tomorrow-verse” animation looked very cheap and flat, with no life in the animation style or stories. DC’s AU of great stories like: “Under the Red Hood”, “Justice League: Dark”, and “Superman: Doomsday” set the standard for quality comic book animation. I collected all the animated movies from that era and had no interest in the Tomorrow-verse, due to the lazy writing and lazy animated art.
The art style is fun and vivid and well drawn
But, Creature Commandos is a return to form for quality animation. I already care about the characters and the story is interesting. James Gunn is starting this universe off right and making his upcoming projects highly anticipated. The new Superman movie is definitely on my must-watch list.
