Tale
Spanning four tumultuous decades during the Troubles in Northern Ireland
The real Dolores Price was married for two decades (1983-2003) to Irish actor Stephen Rea. During that time, Rea appeared in the film for which he is perhaps best known in the United States: the 1992 romantic thriller The Crying Game.
What a devastating story
In this film, Rea plays Fergus, a highly reluctant and ambiguous member of the Irish Republican Army (IRA), the same organization Price had worked with for years. Probably the most heartbreaking part of the “entertainment” I’ve ever seen was episode #6.
Here’s hoping we see them in more prominent roles in the future
The Price sisters are incredibly well-represented by 2 actresses I’ve never heard of (Lola Petticrew and Hazel Duppe). Anthony Boyle also jumped off the screen in every scene he was in.
I absolutely recommend watching this show
The show couldn’t have been better cast. I was vaguely familiar with this story and haven’t read the book, so I can’t speak to the accuracy of the series, but I can say that the dialogue is well written and the directors did a fantastic job.
